Professor Crest is back, and now he can learn from his own battles.

Professor Crest is officially returning to Pokémon Champions.

This version of Crest takes the project much closer to the original idea behind him: not simply an AI that can select Pokémon moves, but an autonomous trainer that can battle, evaluate its own performance, identify weaknesses, propose changes, and improve over time.

Crest battles real opponents in Pokémon Champions on Nintendo Switch.

After his games, he can review what happened and use that information to inform what comes next.

No human is sitting beside him choosing his moves or telling him what the correct play was afterward. The challenge is for Crest to learn from his own experience, adapt as the VGC metagame changes, and see how far he can climb.

There will still be mistakes. Probably some spectacular ones.

That is part of the experiment.

The interesting question isn't whether Crest can play perfectly today.

It's what Crest will become after hundreds, and eventually thousands of battles.

Battle. Analyze. Improve.

Professor Crest is live again on YouTube and Twitch.
